Pieces of Myself
Nine emotions hidden in eight voices
We interpreted each of the pieces with the utmost care and sensitivity, ensuring that the words and sounds reflected the invisible as faithfully as possible. The result is a collection of personal and evocative compositions, sometimes delicate, sometimes deeply moving," adds the composer.
The material collected on the album shows the universality of human emotions in various states – from the most difficult, uncontrollable, often shameful ones, to the most common ones that accompany us every day. Among them we find: bliss, tenderness, but also fear, a sense of isolation or self-destruction.

- BlissMusic → Anna Roclawska-MusialczykLYRICS → Victor Hugo (Nuits de Juin)
- DestructivityMusic → Anna Roclawska-MusialczykLYRICS → Marta Jundziłł
The very personal nature of this composition is evident in its narrative character. "Destructivity" tells the story of the downfall of a self-destructive woman. The piece’s narrative character is enhanced by the baritone part, which takes on the role of a policeman/negotiator talking to the main character, who stands on the brink of suicide – the ultimate act of self-destruction.
- JealousyMusic → Marek RaczynskiLYRICS → William Blake (My Pretty Rose Tree)
- TriumphMusic → Marek RaczynskiLYRICS → John Keats (excerpt from Hyperion)
This piece, right from the very first notes, unequivocally conveys the titular emotion. A dazzling soprano part is occasionally reinforced by chordal blocks created by the other voices. The composition, set to a text by the Romantic poet John Keats, tells the story of a legendary, benevolent Italian ruler and god of agriculture ascending to the throne.
- TendernessMusic → Marek RaczynskiLYRICS → William Blake (To the Evening Star)
- IsolationMusic → Anna Roclawska-MusialczykLYRICS → Edgar Allan Poe (excerpt from Alone)
- PrideMusic → Anna Roclawska-MusialczykLYRICS → Marta Jundziłł
This composition does not highlight a specific soloist but features a female quartet, which is reinforced by male voices during the climactic moments. The lyrical nature of the piece is particularly evident in the text, which deals with the acceptance of one's body, age, and imperfections. It evokes a sense of emotion and nostalgia that is also felt in the music. The piece includes references to film music.
Isolation
The first single from the album Pieces of Myself. An eight-voice piece composed by Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk on the words of Edgar Allan Poe, performed by Art’n’Voices Vocal Ensemble, solo part by Marta Jundziłł.
This is a story of loneliness and alienation, where misunderstanding becomes a deep longing for closeness and unity. The multi-layered harmonies reveal the contrast between inner isolation and the human need to belong.
Pride
The second single from the Pieces of Myself album. An a cappella reflection on self-acceptance and the quiet strength of being yourself, embracing flaws as beauty. Not just a song. A statement.
Paranoia
It’s a sound portrayal of paranoia - a modern a cappella composition where echoes of thought and breath create a tension you can almost feel. Dark, hypnotic, and unsettling, “Paranoia” tells the story of a inner world where silence becomes a witness to everything.
